Review: Veer Switchback Seat

Functionality, convenience and versatility go hand in hand. In the case of Veer they go Seat in EVERYTHING! The Veer Switchback seat is the epitome of top notch or bees knees depending on what era you grew up in. Being a parent is hard enough as it is and it’s even harder to find something that actually plays well with others. Veer has solved multiple issues and created the fullest line up that is ever growing to help parents with their children in the wild world. Read on to see the full opinion on the base of greatness that is the Switchback Seat.

Overview

The Switchback System is the basis of Veer’s product line. Everything that they have available is able to be used with the Switchback Seat. The versatility of the seat is pivotal in the entire idea of Veer. Being able to take one seat from Bike, to Wagon, to Stroller, to you name it is one of the greatest ideas I’ve ever seen. It’s already stressful trying to juggle a car seat, and stroller and an anything else you need to go out for the day. It’s even worse when you’re an active outdoors type family.

The Seat, just like all of their other main product lines, are built for the wilderness. Dual seat dampeners for impact absorption on even the bumpiest and most uneven paths you make be crossing. The built in exoskeleton seat bottom and back absorbs impact as well. The seat is designed with you, safety and outdoors in mind. They exist to raise the wild in every child.

Not only is the Switchback Seat built for outdoors and fun. They took no short corners on safety either. The seat meets or exceeds ASTM, SOR and EN-1888 safety standards and is JPMA Certified. There is a built in 5-point Safety Harness and booster straps (for chairs). There is also an extra extendable high canopy with peak-a-boo window that is designed to block out harmful rays but still give you a clear view of your precious cargo.

Functionality

As I stated above the Switchback Seat is designed to fit into all Switchback frames and adapters. This is as simple and sit and click. The seat is exceptionally easy to add and remove from all of the product lines with minimal effort but maximum reward. This gives your countless options throughout the entire world to take your baby with you on any adventure.

The seat is designed to hold baby from 0+ years with the Infant insert. This is excellent because the seat is not just a one age and done type of product. This seat will grow with you and your baby. This will also give them the experiences of a life time in the world. Growing up in the wild sounds frightening and could end up raising a couple of “Wild Boys” but with the Veer seat, you can ensure they experience the wild without living in it.

Not only is the suspension superb for shock absorption there are other features that provide extra comfort. There is a one click 4 position recline and a one click 3 position calf support. This allows baby to take a nap, stare at the beautiful sky or have the ability to look around and see all of nature. Worried about different seasons? Worry no more! Veer has also built seat inserts for various seasons and terrain (available 2023). This provides additional comfort and control depending on the season and location.

Taking a leisure stroll through the park and baby is getting hungry? No reason to stop and pull over because they have an optional snack and drink tray. This is perfect to give baby a spot to place all the delicious goods they so deserve and allows them to stay hydrated during your excursion. The best part, and I saved this for last, is the cleaning method. Drove through the rain, massive puddle, splashed mud, spilled food? The Switchback Seat is hose washable. Just simply spray it off with a powerful hose and call it a day. You can also remove the soft goods and machine wash them for the tough to get stains and dirt. By far one of the best features I have ever heard of in a baby product.

Specifications

As I said above, the seat grows with you and baby. The Switchback Seat has a seating Area Height of 19.5″, a seating srea width 11.5″ (at front), 12.5″ (at back) and a seating area depth of 9.5″. This gives baby plenty of room to wiggle and ride for quite a while. The maximum baby weight is 50 pounds and with the infant insert this seat is suitable from birth to fairly grown. The seat itself, without baby in it obviously, weighs a whopping 7.5 pounds which is exceptionally light for how much it gives you.

Overall

It is very clear how I feel about this seat and the all of the Veer products and for good reason. I have a son and eventually will have another baby that will be ready to go into the wild just like our little wild boy. Our son has enjoyed our bike rides through the park that his Mother and I had our first date in, he has been able to grow and see places that mean so much to us and in different seasons and times thanks to Veer. It is the gift that absolutely keeps on giving.

When you buy the Seat you open the door for a slew of options. Since the seat is built to work with all the Veer products you don’t have to shop around for what you need. It is all available for you from one company. You can also buy with confidence thanks to their 2 year best in class warranty. I have never had to use it, nor do I think I will, but I have spoken to customer service just to test their quality and responses. The customer service line was very friendly and easy to work with. They answered all the questions that I had and didn’t seem bothered at all.

If you are already part of the Veer family then you understand. If you haven’t taken the plunge yet then this is your sign. Make the leap, join the family and start your adventure today. The world is calling, its begging you to come and play. Let us take you there.  We call this place the wild. Head over to Veer and check out the full line up.
