Dust off those tomes as developer KingsIsle Entertainment invites new and existing players of the magical MMORPG Wizard101 to enjoy its newest update: The Portal of Peril! Located in the Wizard City Fairegrounds, the Portal of Peril offers Wizards a dungeon-delving event with runs for fantastic rewards!
In Wizard101, players are encouraged to unleash their inner magic and prepare to unravel the mysteries surrounding a professor gone rogue. Darkness threatens to engulf The Spiral as each student masters powerful spells, explores over 20 whimsical worlds, and teams up with friends in this nostalgic, family-friendly MMORPG with turn-based deckbuilding gameplay.
Roll up, roll up, and meet the mysterious fortuneteller Madame Magda, who provides Wizards with a doorway to epic adventures filled with treacherous battles with fearsome foes. Players level 30 or higher can pass through her Portal of Peril and embark on a run in three mettle-testing tiers of well-loved and popular Housing Gauntlets, making a return due to fan demand.
Run rewards offer a mix of traditional and new loot as well as Fortune Coins and Peril Points, which can be traded with Madame Magda – only three Portal passes are available each day, though, so Wizard101 players will have to make each run count!
Wizard101 is also becoming more social with the Pixie Post as pesky Pixies have finally passed their training and are now able to deliver messages throughout The Spiral. With the Quest Friend Finders also being introduced, players can more easily befriend new Wizard besties and go on adventures together!
Further improvements in the Wizard101 Portal of Peril update include quality of life updates, such as Spell Card Inspection (offering players a better understanding of each spell), 1000+ Badge revamps (including new descriptions, fixes, and new shinies to unlock), changes made to the Arc 2 Spellements, new cosmetic items, Beastmoon event updates, advanced content changes, guild changes, bug fixes, and more.
