AAA: Gas Prices on the Rise in PA

Gas prices are three cents higher in Western Pennsylvania this week at $3.495 per gallon, according to AAA East Central’s Gas Price Report.

Trend Analysis:
The downward trend continues as the national average for a gallon of gas fell four cents over the past week to $3.13. Today’s national average is nine cents less than a month ago and 37 cents less than a year ago.

At the close of Wednesday’s formal trading session, West Texas Intermediate fell by 78 cents to settle at $70.77 a barrel. The EIA reports that crude oil inventories increased by 5.5 million barrels from the previous week. At 426.0 million barrels, U.S. crude oil inventories are about 4% below the five-year average for this time of year.
