AAA: Gas Prices Continue to Fall in PA

Gas prices are three cents lower in Western Pennsylvania this week at $3.307 per gallon, according to AAA East Central’s Gas Price Report.

Trend Analysis:
The national average for a gallon of gas fell a penny over the heavily traveled Thanksgiving week to $3.04. Gasoline prices this Thanksgiving were at their lowest since 2020 when the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted gasoline demand. There are now 26 states with averages below $3 per gallon. Today’s national average is seven cents lower than a month ago and 19 cents lower than a year ago.

*At the close of Wednesday’s formal trading session, West Texas Intermediate fell 24 cents to settle at 868.72 a barrel. The EIA reports that crude oil inventories decreased by 1.8 million barrels from the previous week. At 428.4 million barrels, U.S. crude oil inventories are about 5% below the five-year average for this time of year.
