As you all have become aware, baby products are kind of my jam right now. Having had a new baby in the house for the last 7 months I have been lucky enough to sample an insane amount of items for him. We all know that babies get way more sleep than their parents, especially in the early days. Babies sleep so many hours in a day but somehow not many hours in a night. Weird how that works out for us but here we are. That being said, when baby is asleep the most important thing is safety. This in my opinion all begins with a strong foundation in the crib mattress itself. Today we will be discussing the Halo DreamWeave Breathable Crib Mattress.
Design
Right off the get go, feeling this mattress I knew it was very much different than anything I’ve ever felt before. Pulling the cover off the mattress find that the mattress itself is made of mostly air and a food grade polymer. It looks like the perfect sourdough starter that is ready to bake. It is flexible and beyond breathable due to its mesh like texture of the 3D printed type material. I don’t know what I expected to find inside but it wasn’t this. It is honestly super cool and high tech futuristic.
The mattress is really nice because it allows airflow through it to give baby a more comfortable sleep. This helps for them to release their body heat and not be restricted due to thick material. The other benefit is that the mattress cover and the mattress itself are both 100% washable. The cover can be thrown into the washer no problem and the mattress being made of the polymer material can be thrown in the shower and hosed out incase of a really bad blow out or night time accident.
The cover itself is two sided and labeled for ease of use depending on the age of the child. The one side is made for the infant, it has a thick padding, very comfortable and firm to give them the protection they need while still figuring out how to live and sleep. The toddler side has a waterproof lining that is designed very well for the potty training stages. The mattress is the same on the inside for both sides, the cover on the outside is what changes. Both sides are quite comfortable for baby or for parent. I personally took a nap on this on the floor while testing it out for baby and can approve.
The other huge benefit to this is the mattress material doesn’t have any toxic glue, springs or other chemicals in it. This might not seem important to some, but to me I truly appreciate the safety and thought that went into the child’s health. This also helps for long term use, as there are no springs to wear down or memory foam to break down and not retain its shape. This material is extremely durable, holds it shape and again is completely washable and breathable.
Overall
Overall, I am beyond impressed and thankful for this mattress. The durability of the set up is unmatched with any other product I’ve seen. The ability to wash everything from the cover to the mattress is absolutely amazing. There is no fear of the mattress getting moldy, stained, ripped or destroyed over time due to abuse and potty accidents. The cover is thick and the protection is strong compared to anything else I’ve seen. The two sides makes it super easy to give the child exactly what they need based on their age and time frame.
Potty training is a terrifying time in your life. Our other child is currently going through this and his mattress is not as helpful as this one. I would highly reccomend this mattress for any parent who is looking for the long term. This would be perfect for a first child especially if you plan to have more because it will last for an insanely long time. If you choose not to reuse, this mattress is also 100% recyclable!
