Solo Developer Bigosaur Announces Clutchtime™: Basketball Deckbuilder Release Date

Last week, solo developer Bigosaur — known best for breakout titles Son of a Witch and Watermelon Party — officially announced the July 24, 2025, release date for its upcoming basketball roguelike deckbuilder, Clutchtime™: Basketball Deckbuilder

Clutchtime combines the deckbuilding and roguelike elements of Balatro with one of the world’s most beloved pastimes, basketball. Each basketball term is a card: Play passes, shots, steals, rebounds, and blocks. Substitute players, call timeouts, and challenge the calls, just like in the big leagues. You can even complain to the refs if that’s what it takes!

“I’m very excited to bring Clutchtime to deckbuilding and basketball fans alike,” said Milan Babuškov, lead developer at Bigosaur. “As a massive basketball fan, this was truly a passion project. Combining my deep knowledge of the sport with my love of gaming was an extremely gratifying experience, and I’m happy to share it with the rest of the world.”

With inspirations from hometown superstars Nikola Jokić, Bogdan Bogdanović, Boban Marjanović, and more, the Serbian developer has turned his love for game development into a passion project using basketball as the medium.

In addition to announcing the launch date, Bigosaur announced the upcoming launch of Clutchtime: Tournament Edition for June 19. This version of Clutchtime gives players a slice of what’s to come in the full launch, allowing them to get a feel for the game’s unique mechanics.

Clutchtime was created so that anybody, regardless of basketball knowledge, can easily pick up the game and understand how to play. Check out the demo today and see for yourself!
