Today at Gamescom, Apogee Entertainment released a new trailer for its upcoming “cell-based” survival crafting adventure game Vexlands, revealing couch co-op multiplayer support! Players will be able to team up with friends to go on exciting adventures, build out their village, and discover perilous dungeons when Vexlands releases on PC in 2026.

Vexlands is a realm of surprises, with a world composed of mysterious, shrouded cells that surround you and must be unlocked to navigate these cursed lands. You get coins by selling resources, which unlock cells to cleanse the land, bringing it back to life the way it was before the unknown calamity struck — this story will be revealed through collecting hidden lore relics. As you unlock the world, you’ll find fantastic underworld dungeons and caverns to explore. While these discoveries can be rich with loot, they are also ripe with dangers like traps and creatures to fight. You’ll need to craft the right gear to have any chance of returning from the depths and besting the challenges that arise.
You won’t just be an adventurer with a mastery of unlocking Vexlands’ cell-based world. Crafting is a core pillar of Vexlands, meaning you’ll need to utilize resources found on your adventures to craft tools, buildings, and defenses for both your hero and your hero’s village. As you explore Vexlands’ many biomes, bring resources back to your village to develop structures that produce gear, protect your loot and tamed animals, or give your village some aesthetic pizzaz. With a branching talent tree, you decide what kind of adventurer you want to become in the realm of Vexlands.

- Unlock the World: Vexlands’ world is composed of cells that, when unlocked, are like a pull on a slot machine. Will you find resources? Discover treasure? Or will a meteor hit your village? Good luck!
- Home Sweet Home: Take the resources you find on your adventures and turn them into tools, buildings, and defenses for your home base. Some will allow you to tame and raise animals, while others will improve your gear. Craft the home you need to survive.

- Unleash Your Talents: Level up as your progress and unlock perks from a branching talent tree. Are you a resourceful gatherer? A wealthy crafter? Or a battle-hardened warrior?
- Couch Quests: Team up with a pixelated bestie and venture into the realm to explore, face foes, perform leisurely activities, and argue over village renovations in Vexlands’ couch co-op mode
