Midwest Games Unveils the Robust Array of Weapons, Spells, and Charms in its Upcoming 2D Souls-Like Action RPG ‘Tombwater’

Today, publisher Midwest Games and developer Max Mraz of Moth Atlas have come together to provide some insight on what sort of weapons, skills, and charms players can look forward to in their 2D Eldritch horror souls-like action RPG, Tombwater. Fans can also wishlist Tombwater on Windows PC via Steam today.

Tombwater contains a compelling offensive inventory for players in its 2D Wild West town plagued by Eldritch monsters. Through its unsettling atmosphere, players will face fast-paced combat against Lovecraftian nightmares and a creeping madness spreading amongst the townspeople. 

In-game progress will require exploration of Tombwater‘s extensive map as well as defeating horrifying bosses along the way. The game provides a variety of combat options, including melee attacks, firearms, spells, charms, and more. Let’s take a detailed look at what else, beyond the Gunslinger’s pistol and dash, will get you through the nightmare-fueled town of Tombwater.

Between firearms and melee weapons, Gunslingers have over 50 tools to work with here and are encouraged to utilize diverse attacks.

Roughly 40 spells in Tombwater offer a unique effect, from inflicting damage to setting traps. Use carefully, though, as almost all spells will inflict some amount of madness and possibly other detriments.

Developed by Moth Atlas from Max Mraz and Jake Wagner. Mraz is best known for previous titles Ocean’s Heart and Yarntown, a ‘demake’ of Bloodborne and direct predecessor to Tombwater.
