‘Starship Troopers: Extermination’ – Patch ‘Critical Strike’ Takes the Battle Against Bugs to a Whole New Level

Last week, the developers at Offworld, in collaboration with publisher Knights Peak, announced tons of new bugs (of the exoskeleton-toting variety) and fixed bugs (of a glitchy persuasion) in Starship Troopers: Extermination patch 1.6, which is available now!

This “Critical Strike” patch marks a major step forward in the fight against the Arachnid menace. Starship Troopers: Extermination features a new, reworked Bugs Spawning System, new equipment, new game mode – Critical Strike, and much more!

With update 1.6Starship Troopers: Extermination introduces a brand new game mode: Critical Strike. This is the first new mode added to the game since its release in October 2024.

Federation scans have picked up large reserves of Archigeon deep underground after meteor strikes have hit remote areas on both Valaka and Agni Prime. Only the best of the best will be tasked with marching headfirst into bug territory to retrieve it. Troopers will fight separated from their other squads and pave a path through these undocumented areas, pushing through swarms of bugs to claim the Archnigeon for the Federation!

Four Squads. Four separate drop zones. One mission: reach the meteorite site, regroup, and rearm. Troopers must stay sharp—this zone is crawling with the biggest bugs the Arachnids have to offer, and they’re attacking in full force.
