AAA: Gas Prices Jump in PA

Gas prices are 11 cents higher in Western Pennsylvania this week at $3.540 per gallon, according to AAA East Central’s Gas Price Report.

Nationwide Trends:
As Americans settle into their fall routines, there has been very little movement at the pump nationally over the past week. Today’s average is $3.19 – the same as last week. Gas prices have been fairly stable for the last couple of months with only one significant increase at the end of last month. A seven-cent jump at the end of August was due to a storm that caused flooding at the Midwest’s largest refinery, the BP Whiting Refinery in Indiana. After the refinery came back online in just a few days, gas prices stabilized. Today’s national average is four cents more than a month ago, but eight cents less than a year ago.

The national average per kilowatt hour of electricity at a public EV charging station stayed the same this past week at 36 cents.
