Kids Dig Into History to Discover Revolutionary War Fort

Beaver Area Heritage Museum
One River Road Extension Beaver, PA 15009

Children and families are invited to enjoy the “Fort McIntosh: Its People and Archaeology” exhibit to learn more about Beaver’s Revolutionary War fort, the very first home of the permanent U.S. Army in peacetime!

Step back in time and explore “Fort McIntosh: Its People and Archaeology”! Families and children can learn about Beaver’s Revolutionary War fort—the first permanent home of the U.S. Army during peacetime—and discover the story of the 1785 Treaty of Fort McIntosh.

Meet 16 fascinating leaders from U.S. and Native American history who were connected to the fort, and see one-of-a-kind artifacts uncovered during real archaeological digs. Then, get hands-on with your very own archaeology station, where kids can “dig” for treasures just like real archaeologists!
