Morefun Studios & Tencent to Bring Open-World Creature-Collector Roco Kingdom to a Global Audience, Closed Beta Test Arriving This October

Yesterday, developer and publisher Morefun Studios announced during gamescom’s Opening Night Live that Roco Kingdom — the defining multiplayer open-world creature-collector and newest entry in the massively popular Chinese franchise — will now be launching globally. Coming to PC, console, and mobile, the free-to-play title will send players to the magical continent of Carosia, as they venture out alone or team up with friends to meet and bond with hundreds of cuddly critters known as Jinies. Players can pre-register for the closed beta test set for October 27, with pre-registration now open.

Having ranked first among all new mobile titles released in China year-to-date by both average DAU and gross receipts, Roco Kingdom is taking its next major leap forward. Building on a 16-year legacy with over 350 million registered browser-game players, the new title made a landmark debut: it welcomed over 15 million players within just 13 hours of launch and reached an average DAU of over 13 million across PC and mobile in its first month. Now, Roco Kingdom is bringing its expansive universe to global audiences for the very first time.

Players can party seamlessly with friends as they explore Roco Kingdom together, uncovering the many Jini species across their own diverse habitats, whilst also enjoying rich social elements, such as home decorating, farming, and visiting one another’s homes. With cross-platform play, PC, console, and mobile players can adventure together as they build up their party of powerful Jinies and outsmart rivals in deep PvP battles.

Roco Kingdom Key Features:

  • Catch and Bond with Over 400 Unique Jinies: Every single Jini is one-of-a-kind, varying in height, size, and weight. Come and forge a lifelong bond that is uniquely yours!

  • Explore a Vibrant Open-World Where Jinies Truly Belong: Venture out into the magical world of Carosia, filled with distinct landscapes, unique climates, and the freedom to explore, create, and embrace nature.

  • Adventure with Friends: Enjoy seamless cross-platform party-ups with friends and share the fun through dynamic player interactions, such as co-riding a Jini, decorating, and farming.

  • Defeat and Outsmart Rivals: With a powerful group of Jinies in tow, engage in strategic turn-based PvP battles free of pay-to-win mechanics, building a diverse lineup of Class matchups.

Roco Kingdom is also a world you can share. You can hold hands with friends, ride Jinies together, visit one another’s homes, take on challenges, or enjoy a friendly duel, and we can’t wait to welcome new players,” said Xiaoye, Narrative Director and Localization Lead for Roco Kingdom. “Our first global playtest is an important step, but it is only the beginning. For us, it also begins with a promise: to listen, to learn, and to keep this world growing alongside players around the globe. We promise to care for this world, listen to the people who enter it, and continue making it richer, warmer, and more surprising. This is where our journey together begins.”

Roco Kingdom is coming to Windows PC, PlayStation, XBOX, and mobile devices (iOS and Android) globally, with a release date to be announced at a later date.
