BitRouter Announces New ATSC Gateway Models for NEXTGEN TV
BitRouter, a pioneer in broadcast technology, this week announced the launch of two new ZapperBox models and the rollout of its 3.x software upgrade, designed to deliver a more affordable and versatile NEXTGEN TV experience. These innovations are aimed at providing seamless TV viewing across all rooms in a home, redefining how users interact with NEXTGEN TV broadcasts.
The new models can receive both NEXTGEN TV and traditional HD broadcasts, and certifications for ATSC 3.0 Security Authority (A3SA) content security, Dolby® MS12 Multistream Decoder v2, and Dolby AC-4 audio compression, ensuring high performance and compatibility with the latest broadcast standards.
Game-Changing Software Upgrade
ZapperBox software release 3.x upgrades all existing ZapperBox devices from DVRs to Gateways. ZapperBox has published a software roadmap to provide gateway functionality for NEXTGEN TV broadcasts that is at par with today’s ATSC 1.0 gateway devices. This includes support for A3SA certified secure content and apps for smart TV receivers. To enable gateway functionality, users can subscribe to a 14-day guide data service for just $29.99/year, ensuring access to up-to-date programming information.
