AT&T and Ericsson have embarked on a network modernization initiative to meet the telecommunications industry’s growing data demands and support energy efficiency goals.

This USD 14 billion agreement establishes a comprehensive strategy for infrastructure evolution, leveraging Ericsson’s advanced technologies to build a high-performing, energy-efficient, and sustainable network to meet growing data demands and enhance the customer experience. Key components include multi-band radios, Open Radio Access Network (Open RAN) technology, and advanced software, each contributing to greater agility, efficiency, and energy optimization.

Additionally, streamlined supply chain and logistics practices annually avoid almost 23,000 metric tons of carbon emissions, setting new benchmarks for performance, efficiency, and sustainability in the telecom industry.
