State of War Returns to Gloria Victis With Guild Castle Sieges

Publisher gamigo today brought State of War back to Gloria Victis, its recently relaunched free-to-play open-world medieval MMORPG built around open PvP, territory control, and large-scale battles. One of the community’s most-requested features, State of War pits rival guilds against each other in 30-minute battles to siege and defend their castles.

For longtime players, State of War brings back guild rivalry and castle siege in a new optimized format. Guilds can scout rival Guild Islands before launching an attack, then fight to break through enemy fortifications and capture the opposing guild’s flag before time runs out. Defenders, meanwhile, must hold their castle and keep the attackers at bay.

Each guild can take part in up to two State of War battles per day: one as the attacker and one as the defender. Battles take place on the defending guild’s Guild Island.

Winning a State of War rewards Technology Points, which are used to develop and maintain Guild Technologies. Defeat carries consequences as well: guilds keep ownership of their castles, but destroyed fortifications are rebuilt one upgrade level lower.

State of War gives guilds a dedicated way to settle rivalries outside of Gloria Victis’ larger nation-based conflicts and territory-control battles.
