Sound Research Named As CES 2019 Innovation Awards Honoree
HOUSTON, Nov. 8, 2018 /PRNewswire/ — Sound Research Corporation today announced that they have been named a CES® 2019 Innovation Awards Honoree for their High Dynamic Range (HDR) gaming soundbar, designed in collaboration with HP’s OMEN gaming design team. The announcement was made during CES Unveiled New York, an invitation-only tech event bringing together top media, exhibitors and industry leaders for a sneak peek of the products and trends expected at CES 2019, which will run January 8-11, 2019 in Las Vegas, NV.
An annual program that celebrates outstanding design, the CES Innovation Awards recognizes honorees across 28 product categories. A panel of judges, including designers, engineers and members of the tech media, reviews submissions based on design, functionality, consumer appeal, engineering and how the products compare with competition.
The CES award-winning HDR soundbar produces a bass response as low as 30Hz, eliminating the need for an external sub-woofer. The HDR gaming soundbar features Sound Research VRTTM (vibration reduction technology) that reduces speaker enclosure vibration, important when pairing a speaker with high resolution gaming displays.
“Sound Research, working together with HPI, has created a CES award-winning gaming soundbar,” says Sound Research CEO Tom Paddock. “Our team designed a ground-breaking speaker that completely immerses the gamer in a massive, visceral sound field with minimal speaker vibration. Near-silent footsteps can now be heard alongside intense explosions. Seismic bass and distortion-limited loudness generates an accurate side to side soundstage, reproducing pinpoint gaming action and ensuring that the HDR soundbar delivers the ultimate gaming auditory experience.”
The CES Innovation Awards are sponsored by the Consumer Technology Association (CTA)™, owner and producer of CES, the world’s largest and most influential technology event. CTA has been recognizing achievements in product design and engineering since 1976.
The HDR gaming soundbar will be on display in the Innovation Awards Showcase at the upcoming CES 2019. The complete list of CES 2019 Innovation Honorees, including product descriptions and photos, can be found at CES.tech/Innovation.
