Ever work in the dark and realize you need a third hand to hold the flashlight? Luckily Fenix has a headlamp that works for not only those close quarters jobs, but is also great for being out in the woods hunting or hiking. Check out what we thought about it.

The Fenix HM50R Headlamp runs on CR123A batteries which you can also pick up from Fenix. You can also use 16340 batteries that are rechargeable via USB. This headlight is fully adjustable so it will fit most sized heads. The adjustable headband helps pull away sweat and it’s also reflective so if you use this while running or biking, it gives a little extra warning for motorists.

It has an CREE LED light with 4 brightness levels. You have a choice of 4 Lumen, 30 Lumen, 130 Lumen and 500 Lumen. The battery life will last anywhere from a max of 128 hours on 4 Lumen down to 2 hours on 500 Lumen. This will not only illuminate the small space you are working on under your cabinet, but give you a bright light for your run and bike rides during the night. It also helps you stay highly visible if you are on the road at night.

Aside from the brightness of this light, another great feature is that it is IP68 rated so it will still work in cold, hot and damp conditions. It is dust proof and water resistant. It also comes with a spare O Ring in case you would some how damage yours, as well as a spare dust cover. The Fenix HM50R is also good for use down to -40F.

Included in the package is the O ring and dust cover we just talked about as well as a battery, charging cable, Spare Silicon Holder, Adjustable headband, User Manual, and Warranty card.

If you think that is a steep price for a light, remember that not only is it able to be recharged, it’s also IP68 rated, Made from durable aluminum, and darn near indestructible. This is the 3rd light we have and I must say I am 100% happy with all of them. They are a great investment with their warranty and how long they last.
