I’m back with another product review from the folks at Rolling Square. I’m taking a look at the TAU battery pack.  They were kind enough to send this over for me to review.  I’ve spent a bit of time with it and I’m here to tell you my thoughts.  Spoiler, it’s a tiny battery pack that packs a punch! Oh, and it’s made to go on your keyring, too!

Unboxing

Another simple packaging by Rolling Square.  I love their eco-friendly packaging.  Inside the box, you have the battery pack, the magnetic dock, screws and wall plugs, nano suction double-sided layer, and the user’s manual.  

Appearance

Rolling Square sent over the pure white version of the TAU.  It has a matte finish which I’m a huge fan of.  I don’t like products that have a glossy finish.  I feel like the glossy finish is much easier to scratch and once it’s scratched it just looks ugly.  You don’t have that problem with a matte finish.

When I say this thing is compact, I mean it’s compact!  TAU is 3 inches tall by about 1 inch wide.  It’s also very lightweight, weighing only 40 grams!

It has a metal clasp that unhooks allowing you to attach it to your keychain so your TAU goes with you.

You get your choice of three different colors of the TAU, Pure White, Charcoal Black, and Agave Green. 

  

Functionality

Your devices will never die as long as you have a TAU battery pack.  You can charge any device from Pixel Buds, Android phones, Android Tablets, iPad, iPhones.

The cables snap out giving you access to a USB-C on one side and a Micro-USB/Apple Lightning on the other. It’s literally an all-in-one battery pack!  No need to carry extra cables!

This small battery pack has a 1,400 mAh battery inside giving you plenty of power on the go to keep your devices charged.

Most battery packs need to be plugged in to be charged.  The TAU does not have a typical charge port so you might ask yourself, how will I recharge my TAU?  The answer is quite simple.  You use the include magnetic dock to recharge your TAU.  

This dock is really simple to use.  Plugin the included charging cable to one side of the dock and the USB side to a wall brick or a USB wall socket.

The dock is made to be mounted on a wall so you can hang up your TAU with your keys and it will charge up your TAU to make sure you are always charged.  Perhaps, you don’t want to wall-mount the dock?  That’s fine, Rolling Square includes a double-layered nano suction that you can affix to the back of the wall mount plate to stick it to a table, desk, or any other surface.  The wall plate will remain in place but you can slide off the dock to take it with you should you need to.  I really think this is a cool feature so you don’t have to drill holes in your wall if you don’t want to.

After using the TAU for a few weeks, I can honestly say this is one of the coolest battery packs I’ve ever seen or used!  I love being able to ditch my old bulky battery pack!
