Transition Networks to Attend BICSI Winter Conference with New 10 Gigabit Ethernet Remotely Managed Media and Rate Converter NID
MINNEAPOLIS, Jan. 29, 2018 /PRNewswire/ — Transition Networks, Inc., a leading provider of innovative, high-value, data network integration solutions, today announced it will showcase its new ION 10 Gigabit Ethernet remotely managed media and rate converter network interface device (NID), at the BICSI Winter Conference & Exhibition.
The BICSI Winter Conference & Exhibition targets the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) community and will take place February 4-8, 2018, at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida. Transition Networks will be exhibiting in booth #619. In addition to the latest 10 Gig Ethernet NID, Transition Networks will also demonstrate its line of Smart Managed PoE+ Switches with Device Management System (DMS) software and its latest network interface card (NIC) technology.
Industry First Rate-Limiting 10 Gig NID
The C4221-4848 NID is the first 10 Gbps Ethernet fiber-to-fiber extender on the market that provides bandwidth rate limiting from 1 Gbps to 10 Gbps and in-band management of both the local card and a remotely located card.
The device has two 10GBase-X (SFP+) ports and a 10/100/1000Base-T copper port, which can be used to connect legacy 10/100/1000 Ethernet devices to a 10 Gig Ethernet link. The C4221 supports 100FX, 1000X, SGMII, and 10 Gig SFP modules, which provides flexibility when connecting legacy devices to 10 Gig Ethernet backbones. Management of a remotely located C4221 is also possible in-band and over the fiber when the remote C4221 is linked back to another C4221 installed in a managed ION chassis with an ION Management Module installed. This type of management gives network managers visibility to the port status and the configuration control of the complete end-to-end link.
Transition Networks will also display its Smart Managed PoE+ Switches with unique DMS software, which allows integrators to auto discover and remotely configure IP-attached powered devices (PD) and simplifies management of the powered devices through various views, such as a graphical topology view, floor view or using Google Maps™ mapping service. The integrated software allows users to easily locate, manage, and maintain up-time of their devices.
“The ability to remotely configure and manage devices meets a critical need for the BICSI ICT audience because it greatly simplifies operations,” said Scott Otis, President of Transition Networks. “Our 10 Gig Ethernet NIDs and Smart Managed PoE+ Switches with DMS software enable those remote capabilities for easy management while lowering costs and downtime for integrators and other ICT experts.”
Also on display will be Transition Networks’ M.2 Ethernet Fiber NICs, providing the ideal fiber connection solution for new micro, mini and thin client PCs. The M.2 Fiber NIC, along with a wide assortment of network adapters for other forms of computers, offers the physical-layer security benefits provided by fiber optic cabling all the way to the desktop.
While at BICSI, Transition Networks’ booth visitors will receive a scratch off ticket for a chance to instantly win an Amazon gift card and be entered for a chance to win a FitBit Blaze™ fitness tracker. Transition Networks is also an official drink sponsor of the event, so conference attendees should look for a ‘winner’ sticker on their cup or koozie for a chance to win a prize at the booth.
