Setting Up a Safe Zone for Vehicles

When your company has been hired to complete an important road project, you may be advised to take certain precautions before the work officially gets underway. Along with actually cordoning off the area in which you will be working, you also need to establish a pathway for oncoming motorists, merging traffic, and trucks entering system go-zones within the project site.

You do not need to hire someone to stand on the side of the road while waving a flag or pointing traffic in what direction to go. You can set up this zone by renting the highway project equipment you need for the job.

Electronic Signage

Depending on the state in which you are working, you may be required by law to warn oncoming traffic about the work way before they actually arrive to the site. You might even have to set up some type of signal at least a half of a mile or mile ahead of where you are working.

You need the signage to capture the attention of drivers and to warn them that they may have to slow down or merge soon. Drivers may not be able to see handwritten signs or placards with removable letters. Instead, you can gain their attention by using digital flashing signs.

The digital signs that you can rent online can be programmed to display whatever message you want it to say. You can change it as the work progresses. You can also return it to the company whenever your project is finished.

Physical Warning Equipment

Along with setting up signs miles ahead of your work site, you also may want to remind drivers to slow down in due time. Rather than post a member of your crew on the side of the road with a flag or sign, you can get the motorists to slow down before they go through the zone with rumble strips.

The rumble strips create a physical sensation as well as a noise that jars motorists as they drive over the strips. The combination of the sound and sensation prompt the drivers to slow down as they pass through the work site.

All of the equipment you need to set up a safe work zone can be rented on the website. You only pay for the gear for as long as you need it. Once you are finished with it, you can return it.
