SUPERCHARGE YOUR PLAY WITH THE NEW ROG STRIX SCAR 17 X3D

When gaming at ultra-high refresh rates, you need every ounce of power you can get — both from the CPU and the GPU. With high-performance GPUs like the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40 Series, the CPU can often become a bottleneck in high framerate titles. In many scenarios, increasing the CPU’s cache can break through this roadblock. That’s why AMD created their 3D V-Cache Technology, allowing more cache on their CPUs for unbelievable gaming performance — and for the first time, we’re proud to announce that 3D V-Cache has come to an ROG laptop. Meet the ROG Strix SCAR 17 X3D.

A new dimension of performance

The original 2023 Strix SCAR 17 shattered barriers with its incredible Ryzen 7000 series processors from AMD — but we’re already pushing the envelope even further. The ROG Strix SCAR 17 X3D comes with AMD’s latest Ryzen 9 7945HX3D, which takes the insane core count found in the 7945HX and adds AMD’s 3D V-Cache to the mix.

AMD 3D V-Cache uses a new packaging technology that stacks additional layers of cache on top of the CPU, doubling the amount of L3 cache from the standard 7945HX without increasing the size of the die. The 7945X3D is a 16-core, 32-thread CPU, with the cores split across two core complexes, or CCDs. One of these CCDs gets the additional L3 cache, while the other CCD allows its eight cores to run at higher boost clocks. This gives you the best of both worlds: more cache for the games and tasks that need it, and higher clock speeds when cache isn’t a bottleneck. Whether you’re gaming, streaming, or creating content on the side, the Strix SCAR 17 X3D is one of the most powerful gaming laptops around.

When combined with top-tier graphics like the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 Laptop GPU, the final result is an incredible performance boost: the new AMD Ryzen 9 7945HX3D is up to an average of 20% faster than the Ryzen 9 7945HX in select titles — with lower power consumption across the board. We’ve also unlocked AMD Precision Boost Overdrive on this machine, a BIOS setting that allows you to overclock the CPU even further.

The ultimate mobile battlestation

This new class of power is supported by the same ROG Intelligent Cooling ecosystem that keeps other Strix laptops performing at the top of their game. Conductonaut Extreme liquid metal has been applied to the GPU* to offer better 17X thermal conductivity than traditional pastes, while a full-cover vapor chamber provides next-level cooling performance not just to crucial chips like the CPU and GPU, but other components like the voltage regulator modules (VRMs). With 43.3% coverage of the total motherboard area, the vapor chamber on the 2023 Strix Scar 17 X3D is the best ROG Intelligent Cooling has to offer.

You also get the same bold, sporty design that the Strix series is known for, with an aluminum lid adorned by the ROG “slash” pattern and a white backlit logo, with plenty of RGB lighting across the keyboard and bottom light bar to customize. Plentiful I/O, including multiple USB Type-C ports, HDMI 2.1, and 2.5G Ethernet let you connect all your peripherals, while the 17-inch QHD 240Hz display keeps your games looking sharp with butter-smooth motion. G-Sync and Advanced Optimus ensure you see every frame without tearing or stuttering, and a low 3ms response time minimizes ghosting so you clearly see every enemy coming your way.

The Strix SCAR 17 X3D offers some of the best portable gaming available today, and we can’t wait for you to try it. For more information on pricing and availability, please contact your local ASUS representative.

*ASUS does not use or recommend using liquid metal on the AMD Ryzen 7945HX3D processor because liquid metal may react with the backside metallization layer of the processor, causing performance degradation over time.
