Dutch Design Studio Launches Soundskins: 3D knitted covers for Sonos Speakers
Amsterdam, Netherlands December 12, 2017 – Soundskins, a new Dutch design product for Sonos speakers, has launched on Kickstarter. This year, design Studio Truly Truly and VANMOKUM created the latest gadget for your audio: Soundskins, a beautiful textile cover that transforms every Sonos speaker into a true design piece that will give warmth to any interior. The studio worked together with the TextielMuseum, one of Europe’s leading centres for textile knowledge and expertise. Turning your speakers into a simple and refined interior piece, does not affect any sound quality.
Studio Truly Truly: “We were uncompromising about the effect of the product. It was extremely important to us that the skin would not affect the quality of the sound. VANMOKUM is very dedicated to this aspect of the design as well; we see similarities in both our approach to create with integrity and a high standard.”
Arno, founder of VANMOKUM, confirms this similar vision and explains they knew exactly what they wanted with creating Soundskins: “When we came up with the idea of making skins for existing audio products, we had a clear idea in mind of what such a skin should look like. We also knew that the material had to be fabric, so we could really transform the technical products into design pieces that blend into your interior.”
The result of this shared vision is Soundskins: a product that is acoustically transparent with a perfect fit for your Sonos speaker. While wearing the skin, you still have full use of push and swipe functions.
To conclude, Soundskins offers a beautiful addition to any interior, giving existing Sonos speakers warmth and personality.
