Motorola Solutions Expands Its Broadband Push-to-Talk Services Across Switzerland

Motorola Solutions today announced that it is providing Swisscom a next generation, 3GPP standards-compliant push-to-talk (PTT) solution, enabling the Swiss telecommunications provider to offer an instant communication service to its business customers. The new PTT service connects individuals and groups instantaneously over Swisscom’s broadband network and allows it to offer priority usage to critical users in emergency situations.Zermatt Bergbahnen AG, Switzerland’s largest cable car company, is one of the first companies using the new solution to improve operational efficiency and safety across 200 kilometers of pistes in the Matterhorn mountain area. Its staff will rely on the new PTT service to communicate and share information in support of daily operations, such as patrolling slopes, as well as to manage critical rescue efforts in emergency situations. Zermatt Bergbahnen will also benefit from the wide range of multimedia features including push-to-video, push-to-text, geo-location, geo-fencing, device sharing and operational status message features.”Communication is critical for business continuity and to address crisis situations.
