Invoxia Announces the Commercial Availability of its Biometric Smart Dog Collar Providing Continuous Canine Cardio Monitoring Capabilities
In time for National Pet Day, Invoxia has today announced that its award- winning biometric Smart Dog Collar will be commercially available via its dedicated website – enabling dog owners of hundreds of breeds to monitor their precious pets’ vitals. The smart collar is the first of its kind, with multiple features and proprietary Heartprint Technology™ that approximates that of human ECG data. Priced at $249, with data subscriptions starting from $9.60 per month, the collar contains an advanced sensor and AI technology that can track and monitor a dog’s respiratory (97% accuracy) and heart vitals (99% accuracy) alongside its activity to provide a 3600 overview of its health, well-being, and whereabouts. With a long battery life, the collar can be worn for several weeks without the need for charging.
Developed alongside veterinary specialists, the Smart Collar will pave the way for preventative pet care with technology that can spot problems in a dog’s health before any visible signs surface and alert the owner in advance. This is made possible by the patent-pending Heartprint Technology™ that extracts cardiopulmonary data through any type of fur while the dog is at rest. Containing valuable information
The Heart Signature is a geometrical representation of heartbeats that is shown as a Poincare Plot (used in human cardiovascular research). Each (x, y) point of the Heart Signature represents a heartbeat, where x is the interval from the preceding beat, y is the interval to the next heartbeat, while transparency is used so that patterns appear at the positions where many points overlap. For a healthy human, for instance, most points will be concentrated on
the diagonal. All dogs have some level of arrhythmia, so the shape is more spread out. The shape of the Heart Signature is unique to each dog and stable through time unless the dog develops a condition, and it contains valuable information on the heart’s state. Invoxia is launching several research programs around interpreting these shapes, made available at scale for the first time.
Amélie Caudron, CEO of Invoxia, noted, “After five years of collecting data from tens of millions of days of pet activities and developing the Smart Collar technology, we are more than excited to finally bring the Invoxia Smart Dog Collar to the market and open up doors for research on correlations between vital signs and dog illnesses. We’re particularly proud of our Heartprint Technology™ that can expose
anomalies before symptoms appear; getting early treatment or diagnosis can make a huge difference between life and death in a dog.”
Invoxia’s Smart Dog Collar will be available in three sizes and will be suitable for a wide variety of small (e.g., French Bulldog), medium, and large-sized dogs. Available in several colors, it is packed with a range of health and tracking technologies, including:
- Heartprint Technology™: Developed with board-certified veterinary cardiologists to measure resting heart rate and respiratory levels to deliver a unique Heart Signature.
- Behavioral/Activity Tracking: To automatically detect and monitor the time a pet spends running, walking (at home, while dog sitting, or in dog care), eating, drinking, barking, or scratching, alerting to potential skin conditions. This can help detect and monitor any volatilities or changes in appetite.
- 24/7 Location Tracking*: Intelligently combining Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and GPS to offer owners accurate location details with maximum battery efficiency. Its intelligent escape alerts can help owners track even the most runaway-prone dog; with live tracking, escape alerts, and a ‘find nearby’ ringer, users can detect when a dog is close by, if it’s hiding under a car, or trapped in a garage. In addition, the integrated GPS locator allows owners to locate their dog if stolen while wearing the Smart Collar.
Pricing and Availability
Available online from the Smart Dog Collar website –, the collar is priced at $249, with data subscriptions starting from $9.60 per month.
*Live tracking, escape alerts, and ‘find nearby’ features will be coming shortly after launch.
