The Finnish startup company Weela has a solution for workout challenges of a busy life. The company developed Weela – a small and intelligent home gym system offering virtual personal guidance. The gym is portable and optimal for a busy or otherwise demanding lifestyle. The device needs under 1 sqm of space  and is easily storable.

The company’s technology innovation is an equipment that creates power with electric resistance and a personal trainer app that guides, motivates and tracks the progress of training. Strength training twice a week is a common recommendation (Resource: Physical Activity Guidelines for Americans) and with Weela it is simple from the comfort of home. The system is suitable for both beginners and professionals: whether the target is e.g. to lose weight, get fit, maintain mass, increase elasticity or gain more muscles.

Weela will be launched at CES 2019, in Las Vegas, on January 8th where exhibition attendees will have the chance to test the device first hand. Weela’s presales will start simultaneously on Indiegogo. Company’s innovation strikes straight to the megatrend of health and the present day busy lifestyle.

”Time management is an everyday challenge. People are in a hurry and they want to spend  more time with the family. Practising is not the first thing on your mind because it takes so much time, even though it would be good for your body and for your mind too. Also sometimes, working out in front of others can stop some people from working out. With Weela you don’t have these barriers” says the Founder Miikka Kurunlahti.

Weela’s goal was to design the perfect exercising product for consumers, one where performance meets the ease and professional guidance. Weela’s very first version is already appreciated widely by physiotherapists, personal trainers and other sports professionals with over 1000 user experiences.  Now the new consumer version will fully replace the first Weela.

The equipment’s technology that creates power with electric resistance is unique, efficient and safe. Due to new technology, the big gyms full of iron can be replaced with Weela that can generate resistance for strength training of up to 100lbs. In comparison to other home gyms Weela is more versatile – almost all normal gym moves can be performed with Weela.

A personal trainer application makes the equipment intelligent. The app works as a personal trainer, creates programs, guides and motivates. It includes over 100 animated workout options to choose, it follows and tracks the progress of workouts. Planned programs make practicing well and reaching goals easy. Weela is a trendsetter in home gym products and it’s purpose is to raise home exercising to the next level.

Weela package includes the device itself, a free personal trainer app from App Store and changeable handles to train thoroughly the whole body. Weela can also be used without the app as the device includes resistance control panel on it.

Weela (Welapro Ltd.) is a technology company based in Oulu, Finland, established in 2015. The company develops and produces its own, patented IoT sports devices with applications that utilize software technology. Weela is launching it’s first consumer product to the market. Weela’s first product, intelligent gym has already been approved and appreciated by physiotherapists and other sports professionals.

Weela’s launch is at CES 2019, in Las Vegas on January 8th. Booth 52140, venue Sands G, Eureka Park.
