Voxel MMORPG ‘Trove’ Announces Rivalry-Busting ‘UP vs DOWN’ Event + New Content

Prepare for hijinx up, down, and all around as MMORPG publisher gamigo announces Trove‘s UP vs. DOWN, the newest event in the free-to-play voxel MMORPG.

From September 10 until September 24 for players on PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch consoles, UP vs. DOWN sees delegates from both the upper (“Cloud Layer”) and lower (“Ashen Wastes”) levels arriving in the hub. By speaking with the Fungi faction, players learn how to vote in the Sundered Uplands… even though the results are always the same: all denizens of the Cloud Layer always vote for UP, and all denizens of the Ashen Wastes always vote for DOWN. What could this mean for the harmony of the Uplands?

Qubesly seems to have a cube-based conundrum on his hands. Delegates from the Sundered Uplands have come to the hub, one from Cloud Layer and the other from Ashen Wastes. They seem to be cordial with each other…for now. Who knows how long that will last, though? Players will need to speak to some friendly fungi and get to the bottom of this rivalry, ultimately culminating in the question: UP or DOWN?

Alongside this event, gamigo has also revealed new “Release the Kraken” content for Rising Tides, the update that brought murky mysteries of the deep with a touch of voxel-themed thalassophobia. This updated content, available for PC players beginning today, includes an expansion to the biome’s story, a fishing expansion, and a brand new boss: the Deep Kraken!
