Raccoon Sky Pirates: Total Chaos Edition Takes Flight on Kickstarter

Hectic Electron’s Kickstarter for Raccoon Sky Pirates: Total Chaos Edition is now live, bringing back the original handmade mailer-box edition while introducing a bigger, more replayable boxed version of the fast, chaotic raccoon misadventure game.

After the original edition sold out, players kept asking where they could find it. This new campaign brings back the classic version for longtime fans while making Total Chaos Edition the main event: a component-packed edition built for quick tabletop chaos, no game master required, and plenty of raccoon-fueled disaster.

Designed for 3 to 6 playersRaccoon Sky Pirates: Total Chaos Edition lets players build a questionable flying ship, raid the suburbs for better trash, and attempt to make it home before everything goes completely wrong. Each session can be played in about 90 minutes to 3 hours with no game master required, making it an easy entry point for newcomers and a quick, chaotic table night for experienced RPG players.

Instead of relying on printouts, Total Chaos Edition gives players everything they need in the box, including house maps, disaster cards, portrait cards, hex tiles, poker chips, custom bottle caps, raccoon dice, and a dumpster-fire meeple. The result is a more tactile, replayable version of the original game, with components that make it easier to visualize the frantic shenanigans of every crew of raccoons and possums.

Raccoon Sky Pirates: Total Chaos Edition Key Features

  • Play a complete GM-less misadventure in 90 minutes to 3 hours with 3–6 players
  • Create raccoons or possums using 30 portrait cards
  • Build a barely functional junkyard airship with 15 puzzle pieces
  • Explore a changing suburban neighborhood using hex tiles
  • Raid homes, steal trash, and mark loot with poker chips and a dry-erase marker
  • Escalate bad decisions with 60 disaster cards
  • Move through the chaos with custom bottle caps, raccoon dice, and a dumpster-fire meeple

Unlike traditional RPGs, players roll to see what their raccoons do before deciding whether that action helps the crew. When things go badly, disaster cards escalate the chaos, while stolen trash can be sacrificed to save an otherwise unhelpful action.

Raccoon Sky Pirates is for anyone who’s ever wanted to live inside a raccoon meme,” said Chrys Sellers, Game Designer at Hectic Electron. “The original game let players jump into a complete, GM-less misadventure in just a few hours, and Total Chaos Edition keeps that same chaotic spirit while adding the components, durability, and replayability we always wanted for the game.”

Raccoon Sky Pirates: Total Chaos Edition is available to back now on Kickstarter, with an early-bird tier offering the physical game for $50 before reverting to its standard $70 price. A $25 tier for the original janky mailer-box game is also available for fans who want the classic version. The campaign is seeking $39,000 and runs through Thursday, July 2.
